The original Space Channel 5 was released on the SEGA Dreamcast. The game is played like the electronic “Simon Says” game although it incorporates rhythm. Your opponent gives you a pattern consisting of the directions Up, Right, Left, Down, and Chu. Chu is controlled by the A button on the Dreamcast and the X button on the Play Station 2. You shoot the aliens with the “A/X” button, and save the humans with the “B/O” button. You have a number of hearts, which is something of a life–bar. Sometimes, you’re given the task to shoot aliens and save humans. When you run out of hearts, you loose to your opponent. To beat a level, you must play good enough to acquire a given “view rating”.
